I have discovered that if you are low in selenium, then supplementing might help with depression as it does for me. I think it makes a difference when used with other vitamins and minerals, or perhaps it is an important piece of the puzzle when treating depression, if your levels are low. I take 50mcg of selenium-yeast during the day and another 50 at bedtime for a total of 100mcg per day. I feel that it makes a difference in my depression.
