Pure Encapsulations brand supplements

Posted by Lao Tzu on July 21, 2010, at 10:45:32

I recently purchased Zinc 30 by Pure Encapsulations and find that is superior and more potent than any other zinc brand I've tried. I went to their website and they make a lot of pharmaceutical grade supplements. Their company only sells directly to healthcare practicioners, but I was able to get the Zinc 30 from House of Nutrition, and they may have other supplements by Pure Encapsulations. They are a little expensive, but I think that if you need a really good supplement for a particular problem, that may be a good option.

Definitely, I've noticed a difference from the PE zinc 30. It seems to be more effective and potent than other brands, and I assume their other supplements are equally effective. Check them out if you're looking for quality supplements.

The Pure Encapsulations website has some very nice information about vitamins, minerals, herbs and drug interations, all backed up by clinical studies and presented in a very nice format. A good find:

The form of zinc in Zinc 30 by PE is zinc picolinate. I have noticed a very potent effect from this brand. It could possibly be a little too strong for some people, so try different brands to determine which one fits you best. I like Solgar's zinc picolinate, but it seems less potent than the PE. I am going to try Kal's Tri-Zinc 50, which has zinc picolinate as well as amino acid chelates. I've determined that I need at least 44-50mg of zinc per day. Someone who needs less might try the PE brand, but like I said, it seems to me to be very potent. It's a good zinc supplement, pharmaceutical grade. I tried taking 60mg of the PE, and wow, it was way too much. I felt lethargic and rather depressed the whole day. The Solgar brand doesn't do this to me probably because it has less bioavailability than the PE brand. It's trial and error. Use what works the best for you.

One interesting side effect of taking zinc is that it increases vividness and recall of dreams. I used to almost never recall my dreams. When I did recall a dream, it was always some anxiety filled situation where I felt paralyzed and the dream itself was always dim, grey. Now that I take zinc every night, my dreams are more vivid and they are usually very interesting and positive, or at least neutral and weird.
