I find that adding selenium to my vitamin regimen is helpful for depression, probably due to its antioxidant effects. The question is how much to take? I find that during the day, 50mcg twice per day is sufficient. I'll take 50mcg in the morning and 50mcg in the evening. Taking too much at one time has the effect of causing me to feel a little sleepy and I start yawning. 50mcg doesn't really do this to me, so it's better to spread doses throughout the day. I also take an additional 100mcg at bedtime for a total daily protection of 200mcg.
This is the end of the thread.
