Hi. Three dopamine enhancers are NADH, Sam-e, and rhodiola rosea. NADH and rhodiola are for increasing energy. Rhodiola has been used successfully for lifting mood and depression. Sam-e helps to increase dopamine and serotonin production and is used for depression.

In addition to the previously mentioned ideas, tyrosine is the immediate precursor raw material for dopamine, and vitex is an herb with dopamine agonist properties.
Predicting which, if any, of these might help is a guess. Predicting side effects or paradoxical reactions is a guess. Just have to try them one at a time and see.

Hi all
Has any of you tried these things for Restless Leg Syndrom? I understand that this Syndrom is a result of Dopamine defficenciy.

There is also TMG, which is a precursor to SAM-e and much much cheaper. 1000 to 3000 mg/day is the therapeutic dose.

> eveThe most effective dopamine enhancer is the herb Mucuna prurines. It contains L-dopa. it is as effective as synthetic L-dopa. You can by it on various internet sites selling vitamins and herbs.

I take Requip (ropinirole) for both its dopamine-enhancing antidepressant effect and RLS/akathisia due to meds at night. But the best natural dopamine enhancer that I know (much better than Requip) is *coffee* -- give me a quadruple latte & I'm ready to take on the world! Unfortunately, not many of us can take it at night ;-) so there you'd have to either go with an Rx med like Requip or some of the alternatives already suggested.
This is the end of the thread.
