I am taking a gamble once again, but when you are desperate.etc..Anyone use Rhodiola Rosea with an a.d., or a.p., or benzos? I know that the Rhodiola Rosea has an effect on me, as it seems to put me in a more 'calming' frame of mind. I have to take half a 500mg capsule, otherwise I will just fall asleep. The only real downside is Rhodiola Rosea causes me to have bad dreams, so again that is why I use the lower dose. Rhodiola Rosea is also supposed to have weight-loss properties, but I'll believe it when I see it!

I've tried ginseng... it caused anxiety and insomnia. I've heard the same problems exists with Rhodiola Rosea and for many users it seems to poop out, so you can't take on a daily basis.
If you need calming supplements you should try taurine, glycine and fish oil.
For weight loss you need to change you diet... it's the best way to improve health. No shortcuts ;-)
What are your symptoms?
What are you trying to improve? anxiety?/Netch

Rhodiola's excellent, and I do believe that lower doses (probably up to 200mg, once in the morning) are the way to go, as higher doses rapidly became energizing rather than calmative/adaptogenic. You do need to cycle it out every month or so, as tolerance will develop.

Funny, I took it for it's energizing properties and boy, did it energize! I had to stop taking it.
Do you believe that Prozac is making you gain weight? Or is it making you hyper?

Actually it is a psychoactive substance which is more stimulating at lose and medium dosages. In contrast, larger doses have more sedative effects.
No wonder I was hyper on it.

No, I am gonna have to nix the Rhodiola, as it caused me to have very bad dreams. My goal is to keep my mental health while losing weight. These drugs just seem so pro-weight gain..lol. Eeeek.
Thnx for the response...
