I'm having an extremely hard time with the do's and dont's of what not to eat while taking stimulants(Adderallxr)I'm loosing too much weight quickly and that concerns me that I'm not getting enough of nutrients that my body needs. The vitamin C issue. I need that! Right? When I'm not hungry I drink the ensure drinks but that's not enough. I need to find a way to intake more calories. Healthy hearty calories. Food for life. Now I'm thinking of adding the L-phenylalanine and with that there's an issue of protein. What in the world does one do without protein?...Desperate in San Francisco!!!

Phenylalanine can be very stimulating. It may lower the required dose of stimulants but it also may be too much in combination with a stimulant.
If either stimulants or phenylalnine are affecting your appetite, you may want to reduce either in order to get it back. Noting will worsen ADHD in the long run more than undernutrition.
You may also experiement with 5-htp. The effects of stimulants are in part mediated by serotonin. 5-htp may also help with anxity if that is an issue.
You should know within a few days weather phenylalaine is going to help you or not. Somtimes it will have an effect on the first dose.
You may want to just watch things like heart palpatitions, excessive stimulation, insomnia, loss of appetite etc, if combining it with stimulants.
I'd recomend starting at a low dose, 50-100mg if combining it with a stimulant.
Omega-3 is also an exceptional supplement for many people with ADHD.
Take care.
