and sometimes not at the same dose (100)
Does it have to do with histamine levels?
Thanks!

Dunno I think its just one of those side effects of the b-vits that is harmless and known about. Like one of them makes your pee turn bright yellow.
Google it perhaps?

Why are you using niacin (nicotinic acid)? Niacinamide is less likely to cause this reaction, and is anxiolytic/antihistaminic.

>Hi Larry,
The reason I am taking niacin rather that niacinamide is due to my reading about Hoffer, Pauling, Pfieffer etc. and their work with nutritional therapies for mental illnesses. Repeatedly they suggest niacin over the other form. I have noticably benefitted from the use of zinc and B6.I have faith in these guys and find the flush effect pleasant. It is purported to be beneficial to the circulation.
Here is but one article that talks about the two forms. All of the info that I dug up on it (admittedly in the orthomolecular circles) seemed to prize the standard niacin.
This info may not be up to date.
Does the niacinamide work as well?
appreciate any info you have on the subject.
Thanks!

There's a niacin flush test which if negative shows you might be schizophrenic. If positive it means you definitely aren't. So good news eh?

So how does that work? If you flush you might be and if you don't flush you are not???
Thanks!
