Given the potential of of sig-1r agonists as neurotrophic agents, are there any herbal products that act as sig1r agonists?
I know SJW has this property, any others?

I would be interested in any replies as well. SJW like you said is the only one that I know of. More specifically hyperforin has shown to have that property and I have taken pure hyperforin and it does have a distinct feel to it that is different that the whole herb. I found SJW to have more of a dulling effect cognitively and it was also more relaxing where pure Hyperforin was stimulating, brightening and from what I could tell seemed to be coginitive enhancing. I have also experienced the same effect from the New Chapter brand of Hyperforin though it's not a guaranteed pure form of SJW.

How do you get pure hyperforin? You mean hyperforin and nothing else?

I recently read that DHEA might be a sig-1r agonist.

Well!
So how far is some form of synthetic SJW away from being a prescription product (in your opinion)?
5,10,20 yrs? Ever?
(Its ok if you'd rather not answer)

But there are hyperforin-rich extracts of SJW perhaps?
Anyone know anything about those?
I found SJW a bit dulling too, but it was the photosensitivity that ruled it out for me. That's caused by the hypericin?
This is the end of the thread.
