I have got a program that will let me create binaural beats. Does anyone know the frequences that are purported to do different things. Has anyone made any charts?

For some inexplicable reason, I seem to remember that there is an old thread around here about this.

I have tried a number of discs, and will try to find the website where I had done some research on the beats and which ones help what symptom. I found the discs I was using quite good. I listened to them at night just before going to sleep. There is a renowned doctor that developed programs that have proven effective. I think his name is Thomasea (or something like that - I am sure it starts with a T). Anyway, I moved recently and my discs are in a box somewhere. I will dig them out and post later with the names and see if I can find the site from where I ordered them.

I just got a freeware beat generator for my laptop. These binaural beats are great.
I don't know if they have theraputic effects, but it is like having a white noise machine. I can do work on my laptop now anywhere, and just drown out all the noise with a binaural beat!

Link,
It's an interesting idea that sound frequency or sound/music could be type of therapy. Years ago binural (probably still is) was used for inducing brain states and out of body experience. I created a few using the "brainwave generator". They are successful in changing your brain state at least temporarily (from experience). I'd like to see some EEG tests (probably on the web if I google).
As far as what sounds do what, the brain is supposed to entrain to the beat produced. So a 4 hz beat should put you into Delta. You might work your way down from beta, to alpha, theta then delta. Delta is supposed to be very restorative.
Worth more discussion
