Posted by Jimmyboy on December 18, 2006, at 8:55:08

Does this actually help stabilize moods like Li Carbonate? I have seen so many conflicting reports ..

has anyone here had good results with it or Lithium asparate?

Thanks

I have been on Serenity brand lithium orotate for 17 days. Did 100mg once on the first day, 100mg twice on 2nd day, 100mg 3X 3rd. The first day I actually felt some goodness from it. After that I couldn't feel anything. After a few days on 300mg I felt a little weird, kind of tired and disconnected from the world, but I deal with those symptoms all the time from my depression and from my slow weaning off of zyprexa, so if it was lithium or not I do not know. But just to be sure I lowered it to 100mg and within a couple days realized I didn't feel as good, and since have gone back to 200mg which seems just right for now.

I am sure lithium is getting into the cells and doing something. It isn't my imagination.

My mood fluctuations that I get throughout the day on a predictable pattern have been tamed. They are still there, but dampened. Lows aren't as low. My evening bounce isn't as robust. Everything is just a little smoother.

So while I can't yet claim any big success with lithium orotate I can't say it has failed either. 17 days isn't very long. But my family says I appear improved. I ask them exactly what they see and they just say overall I seem better than I was.

Other things I take:
1.25mg zyprexa
150mg st johns wort
fish oil

I hope this helps.
