Has anyone tried combining lithium and SJW. I am afraid it will do some really funky things.

I would think the combination could be good. You have already tried each on its own, right? So you know what to expect from each? That would be an advantage I think for determining if something weird was going on.
Lithium has complicated mechanisms. And so does sjw. But if you think about, lots of other complicated meds are combined all the time, such as antipsychotics with lithium and/or lamictal and/or depakote and various antidepressants.
My only concern with sjw, from my own experience, is how it changes the metabolism of other medications. It can significantly reduce blood levels of many meds and significantly increase blood levels of some others. Since lithium is a mineral salt, I'm not sure there would be any metabolic interaction. I think you would be able to tell by the feel of it if lithium was stronger or weaker than the dose you were taking.
If it is any comfort to you, I combined 900mg sjw with antipsychotic 5mg zyprexa and 10mg prozac, which seems a whole lot scarier than combining it with a salt. It worked awesome by the way. But the metabolic interference really messed up the works at about 3 months and I think I was in early stages of serotonin syndrome.
As you and I are fully aware, there is only one way to find out. :-)

Hi Linkadge -
I never took lithium carbonate - but I did pair up lithium orotate with sjw - 3 lithium pills a day and 3 sjw - I really liked it. I did this combo for like 6 months and felt practically normal and cheery the whole time. The lith orotate seemed to take the edge off the dopamine/norep effects of the sjw which I don't like and enhance the serotonin. Sjw has a habit of pooping out on me though, and I do seem to need something else to put with it to stop me going into hyperdrive.
If it works with lith orotate, maybe it will with the 'normal' lithium stuff.
BTW you still doing your cocoa experiment??

Loops,
Why did you stop taking sjw and lithium? Did the combo poop out? Did the lithium delay poopout? Just curious if it worked so what happened that you had to stop.> Hi Linkadge -

I still do take the cocoa. I recently found out that cocoa is a highly pesticided substance. I have been buying organic cocoa powder, but I cannot consume as much of it as the regular cocoa.
I honestly do think it helps. I don't know what aspect of it. I know that it contains substances with strong antioxidant capacity. I generally feel calmer after consuming it.
Although the anandimide content of cocoa is not extremly high, it does contain compounds that inhibit the reuptake of anandimide.
I have been looking for other substances which contain these anandimide reuptake inhibitors.
I think that anandimide reuptake inihbition is a potentially powerful way to combat certain aspects of mental illness. There is a endocannabanoid deficiancy theory of affective disorders.

Blueberry -
I think I stopped taking them because I was starting to feel a little unmotivated at the end. Also my sleep did continue to be affected from the sjw, and I did feel like I was 'on something' the whole time.
Also I began to feel like the sjw wasn't working as well as at the start.
But definitely a worthy combo.
