Hi Larry, We havn't "met" yet, but I've read a lot of your posts and I can
tell you know more about vits/mins/supplements and medications then anyone else here. (No offense to the rest of Babbler's, Just my opinion and I think most everyone agrees).
Anyway, I was diagnosed at age 22 as having major depression w/some Atypical features, Panic attacks (at the time, not now) OCD- bothersome thoughts no rituals, and more recently social phobia...now I am 47. Now, my pdoc says I have Atypical dep., GAD, Social phobia, and intermittent ocd-(thoughts only) I've been on Tca's,nearly every SSRI, SNRI's (remeron helped me a lot for about 5 years) Plus MAOI's and even ECT which helped only for a short while. Of all the meds I've taken Parnate has helped the most-made me feel the best I've ever felt in my life, but sadly pooped out after only 3 mos. This was augmented only with thyroid 3, and this was also 9 years ago.
Well, we are trying Parnate again with the hopes of getting it to last longer ( hopefully a lot longer) w/a lot of augmentation ideas,i,e. Lithium, T3, Neurontin, Lamictal, and maybe even wellbutrin or pindolol...my pdoc is very cool but one thing he is dead set against is amphetamins. Currently, I'm on 50 mg. of parnate (Taken in the morning) 200 mgs of Trazodone at night for sleep-It works well for me, however I do need this higher dose for it to work. I'm also on 6 mgs. of ativan daily. I am feeling better, 0 anxiety now, definitly less depressed, more energetic and motivated-and this after only 2 weeks with the parnate.
What I am asking from you is your augmentation suggestions...ideas I can take to my pdoc(not neccessarily to start now, but ideas for the future when needed. I'm also very interested in vit/mins and other supplements you suggest to Help the parnate work better/longer. Thank you Larry.Sincerely,
Tyler

I'm sorry, Tyler. It was rude of me to not acknowledge your posts.
I've been totally occupied with another matter, the last little while, and I haven't had a chance to yet wrap my head around your questions. I'm otherwise on a Babble-break, but I realized I hadn't addressed you, as you deserve.
I wanted to say I'm sorry, and I won't likely be gone *too* long (fingers crossed).
