Ode to Yellow Dock

Posted by verne on January 15, 2006, at 20:26:53

I was pleasantly surprised when I took two 500mg capsules of Yellow Dock Root.

I was extremely hungover and remembered that Yellow Dock is a blood purifier and has a strong "cooling" energy so thought it would help.

An hour later I wondered why I didn't feel sicker so early into my hangover. The usual hot, burning, stinging-bee, feeling I had come to expect with hangovers wasn't there. Instead I felt a cooling calm.

Now I plan to use Yellow Dock on a regular basis. Perhaps it will help with anxiety and my tendency to overheat. I'm by nature very hot. I have so much fire or Pitta, steam rises from the top of my head.

I've tried Skullcap, Goldenseal, and many other cooling herbs for anxiety but they aren't nearly as "clean" as Yellow Dock. Yellow Dock, for me, is very subtle, my body doesn't over-react to it the way it does to Skullcap or Valerian Root. I usually have to lie down when I take the heavy-hitting herbs. And I can't sleep because my heart is pounding.

Then came Yellow Dock (there's a catchy song by that title) It's like Yellow Dock slipped past my body's security system and defused the bomb.

Tie a yellow ribbon round the old dock tree?

Nice to see you on alt verne......not trying to tell you what to do of course but that admin board is a seriously negative place full of petty rules and people trying to fight them.....I know its hard at times, but dont let yourself get sucked into it all.

You seen the latest, someone got banned for using the word f*rt? I think it stinks ;-))))

On Admin?? Gosh. It's OK to say that where I come from, different stokes for different folks I guess. Admin is picky, but I find Social difficult too, always have, all my life.

I avoid Admin and Social following TJ's advice :-).. that way I don't get upset .. still sometimes my curiosity does win.. hasn't so far ..

So thanks for letting me know what happened. At first I couldn't work out whether it was castles or wind that was the topic.
I could understand if it was smellivision ;-) but otherwise seems strange.
I thought we had one of those word-censors on here anyway?
