Seems rip off Britain continues! I can buy 50 x 500mg caps for 7 pounds but in the US I can buy 227 grams of powder for 10 dollars (about 7 pounds) but it will cost me 18 dollars to send!
Anyone know where I can buy some bulk powder for sensible money in the UK?

Hey! Sorry I can't help you about the inositol, but just googled it and it is supposed to be good for depression/OCD -- have you tried it? I might try some!!
I am sooooo sick of rip-britain too. Everything is just so expensive! And rubbish! I wouldn't mind if we had decent education/healthcare/public transport but we don't! Grrr.

No, i've not tried it but thought it might help my intrusive and repetative thought problems. I always thought these stemmed from anxiety, but didnt realise until recently that OCD tends to be linked more with anxiety disorders than it does with depression (although not exclusively).
Just object strongly to getting ripped off.

I've looked for a while for Inositol powder in the UK, but you just can't seem to get it. Eventually I got some from www.bulknutrition.com. You can get 1 Kilo (1000grams) for $31.99 which even with the reasonable shipping makes it a very worthwhile purchase if you are after high dosage Inositol.

Sadly it made no difference to the amount of panic attacks I have, a supplement called Country Life GABA Relaxer was more effective and that contains a smaller amount of Inositol amongst other things.

Tried to get some of that gaba relaxer today but they had to order it so I wont have it till next week.
Did get some solgar inositol caps though......50 x 500mg for £7.95 which seemed ok. Taken 6 today in 3 divided doses. Will keep that up for a few days and see if it has any effect.

GABA relaxer costs £10.95 on average in the UK and that's for 30 tablets. You can get it for less from www.iherb.com and you get 90 tablets. You have to figure in the cost of shipping of course, so if you decide to get it then it might be worth doing a bulk order or ordering some other supplements you may require.
Yeah I really really hate how we get ripped off in the UK. If something is £10 here it's generally $10 in the UK. :\
GABA relaxer isn't a potent anxiolytic like Benzodiazepine drugs, but I believe it does help to raise GABA levels, and for some reason research has shown that sufferers of panic attacks generally have around 22% less GABA in the brain. The dosage is 2 tablets but I only take one, if I take two then I get breathlessness and a little anxiety, which paradoxically can be a side effect of too much GABA. Anyway 2 might be the right dosage for you, your mileage may vary.
