The following may facilitate, stimulate or increase production of BDNF. Studies provided below as well.
Hormones
Estradiol may facilitate the production of BDNF. references
Minerals
Lithium may increase the production of BDNF.
Zinc may increase the production of BDNF.
Pharmaceutical DrugsMemantine may increase the production of BDNF.
Smart Drugs
Deprenyl may stimulate the production of BDNF.
Hydergine may stimulate the release of BDNF.

derived neurotrophic factor.· Singh, M. The effect of overiectomy and estradiol replacement on brain-derived neurotrophic factor messenger ribonucleic acid expression in cortical and hippocampal brain regions of female Sprague-Dawley rats. Endocrinology. 136(5):2320-2324, 1995.
When the ovaries of female rats were removed (ovariectomized) in order to suppress the endogenous production of estradiol, lowered brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) occurred.

You failed to mention the most powerful stimulant of BDNF; exercise. I know you asked about precursors and I didnt see any but exercise has proven effects on BDNF.

Yes I exercise all the time, but I was trying to think about it in a different way.
I read somewhere that exercise induced BDNF expression may be dependant on estrogen.
Interesting to note that exercise can lower zinc levels, so supplementation might be wise.
