Okay so I'm taking Kira St John's wort for some time now. But I am confused. The usual dosage is supposed to be three tablets a day, giving you 900mg of extract.
But I have been taking one tablet a day (giving me 300mg).
Read these instructions that I have copied from the box, and see what you think:
'Directions for use:
Do not chew, but shallow whole, 1 tablet daily with a little cold liquid at meal times'
Do you think that means one tablet with each meal, hence three times a day, or just one tablet total a day?

Okay I have checked the packet and Kira's website. Something is wrong somewhere.......this is what the website says:
'How many tablets should I take?We recommend a daily intake of 900 micrograms hypericin (a key active ingredient of St John's Wort) - equivalent to a single One-A-Day tablet, or three of Kira's original formula tablets. This is the dosage used in research. The tablets should be swallowed rather than chewed, and should be taken as directed on pack.'
Okay so I have the One-A-Day formula (it says so on the packet). So each tablet should contain 900mg, as stated on their website above. BUT ON THE PACKET IT SAYS:'each tablet contains standardised Ll-160 gently dried extract 300mg of St John's wort'.
Confused? I am! Something is clearly wrong with the labelling on the packet. I wouldn't want anyone thinking that they were the 300mg each tablets when they were really the 900mg tablets. There could be a potential for overdosing!
Could anyone shed any light on this?
I will ring the customer service department tomorrow!!

Okay so I have solved it....
I also got this from their website....
'The herb to feel good about. Kira St John’s Wort One-A-Day tablets contain 300mg to provide 900µg hypericum.'
Phew! So all is well.
