Caffiene depleates inositol. This is why coffee can make you feel grey if you drink it consistantly.
I tried taking coffee inositol. This is a fast acting mood brightener. The inositol also counteracts some of the anxiety from the coffee.
You should try it! Take about 500mg of inositol for ever cup.
This might be package deal psychosis but it is invigorating.

I hope it doesn't poop out on me. It is wonderfull. Calming, energizing, almost a euphoriant. The inositol sweetens the coffee too as it is a isomer of glucose (or something)

It seemed to last a few hours (around 3) with three a day, I noticed a seemingly sustained mood.
I normally experience significant caffiene crash, but I seemed to have avoided this. It is a warmer feeling than caffiene alone, and more bright. Inositol acts as a second messenger to the dopamine system.

Hi -
doesn't coffee use up thiamin as well?
If I drink some I take B1 tablets and I remain calm - seems to help. I'll have to try the inositol though - good one!

I've found tryptophan and inositol to have good effect.I take 12 grams of inositol and about a gram of tryptophan per day.

What does the inositol do for you and how do you take it (mixed in with something or in capsules)?

It primarily calms my anxiety and obsessive worry, things that used to bother me like being totally self concious when socializing with others and just being self concious in general have been reduced significantly, and I've always had a problem with obsessive worry, which has also been reduced,I'm alot more relaxed now.I'll also point out that I take fish oil and a multi, but it wasn't until I started the inositol that significant relief began, hopefully it will last for as long as I take it.I've heard that people who've done this get relief until they stop, then all the symptoms come back,so this may be a long term thing.
As far as mixing,I buy the bulk powder and mix 6 grams twice a day in warm water.I don't know if you've tried this, but expect alot of gastro problems at first, such as excessive gas and some diarreah, but the body eventually adapts.

Inositols itself (for me) is calming but not sedating in the least. It really seems to attune the sences.
The inositol (about 500mg per cup) tames the caffiene anxiety, and really seems to accentuate the improved mood, and cognative gain of a cup of coffee.
Just my experience

I think you are on to something here! I tried 250mg of Inositol with my morning coffee for 2 days in a row and I felt both calm and energized. Then I added Inositol (further 250mg) to my night time supps (which is now a huge list!) and I slept better than I've done for weeks.....and no night sweats......any explanation for that (the absence of sweats)????
Thank you so much for the suggestion :)
Jas
p.s. I've got a bit of headache the last few days, is Inositol known to cause headaches???

Identify 'caffeine crash'! Coffee w/o anxiety onset which peaks to agoraphobia; tks for great post.
How purchase if don't have scale? Do ya' mix w/ coffee, then brew; or, take 250 or 500 before drink? Sorry, forgotten specifics.
Anyone tried Frangelica, order @ 1-800-627-0309. It's the best I've ever tested (full flavored medium roast light weight)!
P doesn't like benzos!
All the best Linkadge ..

Yeah, Inositol itself is a sugar and is sweet. I just drop a pill in the coffee and disolve it. But drinking coffee and taking a supplement would probably be equivlant.
