I tried it but only because I have serious problems with dopamine levels now after being treated by some idiot who probably wasn't an idiot and had other intentions. I tried taking one pill of SJW at night so I could sleep, but I felt even deader in the morning. Emotional depth was gone, and my arm swing completely gone.
I was waking up before with stiffness and a seriously arched eyebrow. My eyebrow twitches a bit when I really get thinking...I don't even think I need a mood stabilizer anymore 'cause my doc revese kindled me on purpose. Is that possible?

Hello -
I wasn't on lithium but was taking lithium orotate which did have some effect. I did combine this with sjw for quite a few months with some success. However as you all know lith orotate is much smaller dosage than regular lith. Don't see why not though.

Hi L -
I was taking 3-4 tabs (each 120mg of lith orotate, supplying - um, doesn't say on bottle, but I think it's a small fraction of that - I was taking Hans Nieper pills advanced research brand).
I have to say, this did actually prevent me from going into a manic phase, or whatever you want to call it, as I had prior experience of taking sjw without lith orotate, and I had gone quite out of my box after a few weeks. However, even lith orotate seemed to slow me down after a few months - as in motivation - sjw also does nothing for motivation in the long run, but for me it did stop me getting very depressed. Lith orotate took about 2 weeks for me to get the benefits. HOwever on one occasion I thought is this working? So took 3 pills all at once and THAT CONVINCED me, as I felt so incredibly monged and tired and dull. ALso when I took myself off it, I started having these incredible crying fits, which I guess meant that lith was doing it's job before keeping me 'in the middle'. However in the end I just got sick of being 'in the middle', and I wasn't getting any composition done (music)or being creative at all which was pissing me off.
Sorry to waffle here, but just wanted to post my experiences.
The other thing I found, was that a good sjw tincture works much better (for me)than the pills, even the high quality standardized ones. It takes a bit of a leap of faith with tinctures - the colour tells you most about the quality in my opinion.
I also found that brands from N America differed from sjw I bought here in Chile. I don't know if it's the soil or the methods, but I have had better success with native sjw. Also here in Chile there are a lot of Germans and German-descent communities, and so we have brands like KNOP, which is originally German and employs their standards (is my guess).
Lastly, I am taking sjw once more at the moment after a break, in which I was taking nootropics and got slung into a bit of a manic phase. HOwever, what is really making a huge difference right now is the amount of fish oil and epo I'm taking - at least 3g omega 3, plus a couple of grams epo, P5P and zinc. I also take 5htp (pharmaceutical quality) 50mg 3-4 times a day, plus extra B1.
I didn't notice anything with the fish oil until I really ramped up the dose and added epo as well.
I was taking lecithin, as this was having a very beneficial action on my social anxiety with the fish oil, but had to stop as it was making my eczema worse. I'm trying to eat lots of eggs and nuts instead, to see if things containing lecithin and choline will help me instead.
Have you taken sjw before? Did you have any luck?

The first time I tried SJW it made me a litle hypomanic. THe second time I took it I got very paranoid.
Some of the nootropics ie ginkgo also make me a little paranoid, and distort my decisions.
Lithium can really potentiate any serotogenic agents. Ie SJW, 5-htp and or SSRI's.

Did you ever try this combo?
For me lecithin knocks a manic episode right on the head (if taken with high concentration fish oil) - even better with tryptophan.
Right now I'm going for a world record in nut eating as it seems to be the only safe thing I can do.

Yeah I know -
however only if I have too much. I know when it's time to leave it. Also fish oil is antidepressant for me so that balances it out a bit.
