I have tried to start precursoing SAMe. Right now I am taking folic acid, b12 and TMG (2g's).
TMG is hard to find in my area. I read somewhere that MSM is a possible methyl doner and may enhance methlyation. Does anyone know if this is true ?? Would it have any effect on raising bran SAMe content ??

> LinkadgeThere is no evidence that MSM is a methyl donor. Although its structure suggests it might be one, no biochemical reactions have ever been shown to include MSM as a methyl donor. It's really clear what it does do, but at least it is nontoxic. Perhaps it relieves some portion of oxidative stress on sulphur metabolism, by serving as an alternative source for sulphuration reactions.
TMG is not hard to find, in my experience. I buy Source Naturals brand tablets because you don't seem to pay a premium over bulk purchases, despite the obvious cost of portioning and pressing into tablets.
