PLEASE MOVE THESE POSTS TO SOCIAL. THEY ARE DESTROYING THE ADMIN BOARD!!!! THEY ARE DRIVING PEOPLE AWAY AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A DISCUSSION ABOUT ADMINISTRATION.
IF PEOPLE WANT TO TALK ABOUT OTHER POSTERS AND WHAT THEY LIKE ABOUT THEM AND WHATEVER -- MOVE IT TO SOCIAL.
I AM ABOUT TO LEAVE THIS BOARD ALSO, LIKE DINAH, IF THIS CONTINUES. OR POSSIBLY HOLD MY BREATH TILL I TURN BLUE

rjlockhart37
rjlockhart37 is a true success story. What an amazing transformation! His intelligence and insightfulness are stunning. A few years ago, I didn't think he had it in him. He is no longer a troubled boy locked within himself and within his house. He has always been honest with himself and others. I believe this was critical in his maturation and the enhancement of mental health. I like reading his stuff. His young mind can teach my older one in many ways.
Carry on!
All systems go!

ed_uk2010
Ed is easily the most knowledgeable member of the Psycho-Babble community with respect to clinical pharmacology. He is a consummate professional who I like to use as a source of information or to correct my errors. He has caught me on more than one occasion neglecting to address drug-drug interactions. I find his scope and depth of knowledge extraordinary. He blows away any pharmacist I have ever worked with. Ed is compassionate and driven to help people. We are lucky to have him.

This is turning out to be a sort of directory of members. Perhaps we can create one. That is not the sort of thing that belongs on the Social board. I don't know. Maybe it does. I hope Dr. Bob will offer some direction here. It is a complicated issue, I should think. Dr. Bob might need time to deliberate your request. Should all posts that are not expressly administrative be moved to other boards - you know - like most of yours?
Something nice: you are persistent.

A series of narcissistic posts concerning what SLS "likes" about other posters is not a directory. His saccharine one dimensional posts are boring and flat. They reflect the lethargic phlegmatic depressed landscape of the writers mind more than the personalities of the posters he describes. I fear they would discourage new posters and be the death blow of a dying website. This could be the end bob. It's in your hands. Move them to Social PLEEEEEEEEEASE
On the other hand it might be a public service to end Babble. A strong argument could be made for that.

The main board was archived the same number of times in 2013 as in 1999.
Of course admin is picking up again lol

Well, it's about time someone wrote something nice about me.
Thank you, HomelyCygnet.
:-)
Now that you got the hang of it, how about writing something nice about Lou Pilder or perhaps even Dinah?

On second thought, that is probably a very bad idea, especially because I have no interest in creating one. Besides, it doesn't seem that too many people are interested in saying something nice about other people.
How hard can that be?
Sigi said something nice about me. The man has courage. Either that, or he is mentally ill. ;-) Thanks, Sigi.

Tomatheus.
Tomatheus is a very sober individual for whom I have great respect. His compositions are well written and refreshingly deliberated. He is consistently supportive, even if he has no immediate answers to the questions posed by desperate individuals. Tomatheus has a knack for being able to organize issues to make them more understandable. He is extrememly kind. I really enjoy reading the posts of Tomatheus. I try not to miss them.

SLS tries to keep positive in what sometimes are very negative situations. He has a keen ability to keep posting what he sees are good qualities in other posters. Thank you. I was trying to avoid the Admin Board, but felt you needed to know you are appreciated.

I will second Poet's post. And add that to keep trying new meds year after year I don't think I could do it. Scott has patience something I will never have. In between responding I do google a lot of the things written here and try to ascertain what is fact. I think the fact That a Doctor Practices Medicine is a pretty good example of No one knows everything. I have a bad habit of starting a post about a specific person and then starting a new topic. That I do apologize for. Phillipa

I haven't decided whether or not to continue posting nice things about other people. I really don't want to turn this into a battle of wits with those people who would have me desist. I do have two people in mind to post nice things about, though. Of course, there are many more. Wait... I just thought of a third. To be honest, this thread could go on for quite awhile. It really isn't too difficult to find the good in most people. Unfortunately, there are those who seem dedicated to searching for human foibles to ridicule.

Does anyone have an idea as to why there aren't more people posting nice things about others?
I really appreciate the complimentary comments made by Sigismund, Poet, and Phillipa. (I hope I'm not missing anyone).

Lao Tzu
Lao is probably one of the least recognized but priceless contributors to Psycho-Babble. To my knowledge, he has never posted on the Medication board. He used to frequent the Alternative board. The last time he posted there was in October 2013. He often posts in spurts. I hope he will return to post again. He is incredibly knowledgeable about vitamins and supplements. He is also a meticulous reporter of his own experiences with these substances. He is unselfish in the time he spends helping people. He is without pretense. This helps to make him a very positive addition to the community.

Posting nice things about people == is only absurd in an already absurd situation of despair and impotence, of an unbearably barren landscape in which no hope of meaning or the completion of an action other than talking to oneself or flagellating oneself or others is possible.
The admin board of this place has turned into such a landscape where sadism and impotent pleas are all met with absence, emptiness, the silence or the eerie and garbled pronouncements of God, I mean Bob.
In the hope of somehow freeing us, you might move the discussion-- even if it consists of memoriams, faint traces of the inhabitants of a babble that no longer exists, of a plentitude that is no longer-- somewhere where you are not addressing Bob, who has clearly abandoned us-- or that you discuss your despair on the psychology board. Bob is not going to answer; tomethaeus, Dinah, twinleaf, tender, and all the other voices that answered and provoked them and us, are not going to return-- there is nothing to return to.
This was a grand endeavor-- in its way. And perhaps other such endeavors may spring up-- but babble simply can't brought to life, no matter how much anyone might wish to.
When Lou becomes the spirit of the time, the locus dei, the central Voice, the light is extinguished. I could honor your attempt to revive it-- and HC's attempt to whip us into his/her own ferment-- but it is all sadly absurd right now, right here.

Hi Willful.
You make a lot of sense (as usual).
I wouldn't mind too much if this part of the thread were moved to Social, but I doubt I would be interested in continuing it there unilaterally. I like that my posts along this thread are visible in Administration. I don't see much negativism elsewhere, although I have my moments of irritability on Medication.
It is funny that this whole thing started because Alexandra_K had wanted me to change the subject line that was written by HomelyCygnet. This is the first thing that came to mind: "Nice things to say about other people." I hadn't thought to make a series out of it, but the vitriol was turning my stomach. I thought that if one person could inject negativism into an otherwise neutral environment, perhaps another person could offset it with an injection of positivism. The negativism was fabricated. The positive was already extant in the valuable qualities possessed by each poster of Psycho-Babble. My part was easy.
Are you a writer?
