Dr. Bob, I was just thinking, what if I have to introduce you to someone or what if someone asks who you are? Should I say you are an acquaintance? That sounds so distanced and unfriendly...
Explaining that you are an administrator of an on-line forum sounds too complicated. What if they don't know what an on-line forum is?
Can I just say you're a friend? Maybe that you're a friend I met on-line.
Anyways, I'm just thinking out loud.
