same problems
same disagreements
same response from Dr. Bob
different day
blah blah blah

but we do have a choice whether to stay or go...

In theory, there is a choice.
But only in theory
For some this board is a lifeline
and it takes a while before the discrepencies
are noticed. Leaving or having an unfair
block can be traumatizing- after all people with mental health issues are among our most vulnerable.
I barely post anymore, but I do always say something when I see what I think is an unfair
judgement by Dr. Bob. I don't expect change
but when this board was my lifeline it meant the world to me to be defended.

This website is comparable to any RL social group, people make friends here, and to be reminded to just shut up or leave after a disagreement (or a few) is as potentially devastating as it would be anywhere else.

I wonder what the guidelines were in the beginning..if they arose out of necessity, if there was a lot of trial and error, how things maybe "evolved".

I heard that after GWB won the election against Kerry there was an outbreak, and a crackdown followed.

For some people maybe it is a lifeline. I have been a member for almost 4 years and when I needed a lifeline, I got blocked just for saying something like I was feeling hurt. Good thing I didn't really count on this place as a lifeline or I would not be alive...

It doesn't matter anymore, it takes a long time for me to learn who I can count on and who I can't. Hard lesson to learn.
I really need to leave, I promised my T I wouldn't come here anymore. I am not doing so well with promises it seems.

aww crap
\
I hope I didn't have anything to do with that.

I didnt' mean that to sound like an admonishment

or.. an adminishment... thats my mouldy admin board joke..sorry.

Yeah it does take a lot to find out who you can count on, I've been shocked a couple of times.

I guess I sounded preachy because I felt sort of cavalier about all the arguments at one time
and I was judgemental, but then things really fell apart for me, and I had not even a phone,
and no therapist, and well.. hey I got blocked too!
what is it with that?? Yeah, a 9 week block for
something.. I cant even remember now.

But it was people from here who kept me going
they really came through. I was ashamed of how I'd been toward people before when they were really upset with Bob.. so I guess I went overboard in my post making up for my own words really
I'm sorry.

Oh, I didn't mean anything really...you are okay with me...

I am just frustrated with this place and it is sad that I feel I have to leave, I just don't like the way things have changed over the last couple of years. But I guess it will be kinda like high school, it seemed to mean a lot to our lives at one time, but then when years go by since graduation, you just move on... the importance fades...

Kerry..my goodness, oh yeah, I did vote for him
I never go to the politics board, but I like to hear about political stuff from the BBC on the radio in the car.

I just wonder if once upon a time here on PB, if it was all chaos with people flinging 'f*ck you's all over the place while laughing maniacally.

sig- do you like star trek??

yes sir ;-)

you see they had this one particular episode, the star trek people beamed down to this planet where these dazed, abnormally cordial, uptight folks strolled slowly all around the town, tipping their hats and acting all stepford wive-ish.

but then...the clock would strike a certain hour, and they'd all start screaming "FESTIVAL!! FESTIVAL!!", they'd start looting, pillaging, ravaging, burning random things and being generally savage and out of control.

the clock would strike a certain hour again...and it would all stop and they'd just all be as robotic and creepy as they had been before...

the moral of the story....
I don't know, and why the hell did I think of this anyway??

perhaps I wonder about the extremes and the somewhere in betweens
