I like the spelling check links below, but I wonder if we could also have a link to a thesaurus. There are times I rely heavily on the thesaurus in Word when composing posts. But I compose in the posting window, not in Word, so I always have to open a document to look up a word.
Thanks for your consideration,
gg

Yeah, so instead of snort you could use....
Main Entry: snort
Part of Speech: verb
Synonyms: blow, breathe, drink, grunt, laugh, pant, puff, snore, soundI personally would prefer puff, lol

I see now that I can just type the word in the Merriam-Webster look up box and then check thesaurus.

This reminds me of something Paul Keating once said
>That you Jim? Paul Keating here. Just because you swallowed a f*ck*ng dictionary when you were about 15 doesnt give you the right to pour a bucket of sh*t over the rest of us.

Hi fayeroe,
Do you mean this book for me? I wondered, because you directed your reply to me. I'm not sure if you mean for the board's use or what. Thanks,
gg

Oops, great post. I meant to tell you, but got distracted.
I grunted when I read it. Nah, it's got to be the snort. ;)

That's some quote. I see the dictionary link, but was there something else, too, that reminded you of this particular quote? Fayeroe found it apt, so I'm curious.
Thanks,
gg

I believe that rather than singling out one person on Babble, I would include threads that were started here and I am particularly referring to the one about excessive posting. It doesn't make any difference to me how I feel about how many posts someone makes, I wouldn't make some of the hurtful statements that were made. And as Toph said above about the posts that are just under the radar and when the receiving poster answers back...the second poster gets reprimanded. Not classy at all.
I've noticed that some posters dive into a thread and say just enough to start something. I think that is really rude.
Miss Manners, come ahead on. (Leon Russell again)
You are needed here.

Could you please clarify:
a)f*ck*ng
b) Is this a literal meaning "swallowed"
c)most importantly please clarify what you mean by "rest of us"Who is included in "us" how many are you defining by "the rest of us"?
I've seen the term "bucket" used on admin over and over and have no clear definition about what is meant?
I think your use with f... needs no further definition regardless of dictionary or thesarus. Do you think I should Notify the Administrators? I think they must have overlooked this post.

Just pining for progressive politics, GG.
It meant nothing at all. The thesaurus brought it to mind.

Hello Oky
I was quoting from our second last PM.
You can read more of the same here
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/poli/20080312/msgs/842404.htmlThe 'rest of us' must have been the members of some ALP forum.
I realise that (though it would have made no sense) it could be seen that I addressed that to GG.
No one here sounds as if they have swallowed a thesaurus (though it does sound like an interesting thing to do), but if anyone does he or she can be my friend.

I realise that (though it would have made no sense) it could be seen that I addressed that to GG.It was not directed at any one person. I know this rings untrue but in the end it is probably least about gg. Why would it not have made sense?

Because GG does not sound as if she has swallowed a dictionary.

Even worse, it has nothing to do with this board at all.
I was thinking about the threads on the Politics Board to which I have been contributing, down near the bottom of the board.
So I had Paul Keating in mind, and Bush and Cheney, Iraq, global warming, political leadership, Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, and the end of the world generally. That's it.

I apologise. I missed your response here completely and felt really stupid about not getting what you were talking about.
again really bad day whether i agree with you about the rest or not. I certainly do not have the skills to debate any of it.
I guess there is a posting rule here that I usually do not have to worry about. Three in one thread right.

You shouldn't expect yourself to be a mind reader.
I come in here thinking about Paul Keating's invective applied to youknowwhom and just because someone mentions thesaurus off I go.
This is the end of the thread.
