How many licks?

Posted by gardenergirl on July 27, 2008, at 19:14:43

Anyone remember that Tootsie Pop commercial with the owl? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Ah one.
Ah two.
Ah three.
CRUNCH!

Three.

How many weeks absent must Dr. Bob be before we get to the center of the Bicker Pops?

Curious,

I think at this point we need to accept his absence as the new normal. :(

Certainly bickering won't bring him back.

It would, as usual, be nice if he actually said something instead of just changing the parameters without comment. Sigh. I suppose I should wonder if it really is a change if it's the new norm, though? ;)

It just hit me that this looks like a recurring pattern, and I wondered if there was a sort of "critical mass" of time.

Anyway, time to go wash the backyard off me. Seven more down, only fourteen more plants to get in the ground before the end of the season. :)

I've got no real insight into this.

But what I see is that not only does Dr. Bob disappear for long periods of time, but his returns are briefer and briefer.

At one time it may have been useful for posters to behave in such a way as to require his presence. I'm not sure, at this point, that it makes any difference.

I hope I'm wrong.

I wasn't really thinking about the utility or not of it. I was struck more by the phenomenon itself. I guess I assumed it happened more or less unconsciously, perhaps collectively unconscious?.

Now, the utility of my observation? We could lick and lick and lick and never get to that. ;)
