Thanks for your concern, and given your "please please", you sound quite concerned. I admit though I haven't been able to figure out the connection you suggest between something I posted for support and my work.
>
> "...Um, and I believe you meant, "I feel offended when blah blah blah?" Because otherwise, well, that would be as if someone else were causing your feelings of offense, and of course that's impossible, you know."Actually, the first part of that quoted section is a restatement that could be used in response to a "Please rephrase". The second part, starting with "Because" goes on to describe what meaning the sentence structure the other poster used conveys and the difficulty I have with that concept. Perhaps it's that second part you consider to be a platitude. I believe it depends on the usage, but it certainly could be viewed as such.
I'm totally lost, however, on how the trait I described in the first post you cite relates to discussing what another poster's words convey and the problem I have with that message. And I'm completely flummoxed on how that might relate to working with clients. Do folks here think that the gg they see here is the only gg there is? Is it assumed that the gg one sees here is the gg who is sitting across from a client? I might actually be speechless if that's true.
Thanks for your thoughts and feedback on this. Please feel free to babblemail or email me to discuss this in more depth if you wish.

Hmm, I dunno if fayeroe's real name is Pat or not, but gg - if it is - then pray tell, what is yours??
I hope you are as comfortable using YOUR first name as you are about using others!!!

that some other posts have not received the same attentive treatment to civility guidelines as mine have.
But thanks for your concern.
It's quite amazing.

I so enjoy your posts and your spirit. Wanted you to know that I wasn't alluding to anything about you or any of your posts, in mine. That part was a second thought, to make a contrast. An attempt to illustrate that it's a lot harder to truly embrace and feel more peaceful through the "...no one else can *make* you feel anything" philosophy than was being held out as so obvious and simple.
(Hmmm, would there even be any movies we'd want to see, or books we'd want to read, if everyone became aware that no one can make them feel anything?? Ok just being silly there. And will skip expanding on my thoughts about that philosophy. Wasn't supposed to be my centerpiece.)
The first part of my post, which I thought tied in in a way, was my take on the possible bottom line to some accelerating...freedoms around here lately. An "nm" smiley to sleepygirl's "nm" post title may have accomplished more than I ended up being able to!
Sorry that my post ended up being unclear. Again, I always enjoy reading what you have to say.
OH! Speaking of possible mixups, want to make sure no one out there got the idea that it was me who wrote Fayeroe the babblemails she referred to.
Best,

Well, if you look - Greywolf and Phillippa & whoever else, a reference was also made to someone who goes to "Chat" in babble - so this definitely falls outside of *just* creative writing and venting. It speaks about a unspecified poster who is fairly easy to discern.
Not one post even got a PBC.

I regret any part of your leaving that is from my actions, especially because you're one that I highly respect. Someone leaving after reading my recent posts is a cost that I admit didn't occur to me. I want to thank you for calling my attention to the affect my bratty bitchiness can have on those not directly involved in the dialog. (And thanks to the friends who expressed similar sentiments last night.) I apologize to you and to anyone else who has been hurt or offended by my recent posts. Clearly the costs outweigh any fleeting benefits I may have experienced, and I'm sorry.
Take care,
gg

I'm not remotely offended but the kinds of communication on Admin seem so adversarial and unlikely to achieve resolution that I wonder what the point is.

I've seen several posts on this page where the poster uses her first name in signature. That's also happened on other boards with many posters, and it is not uncommon for people to reply in the same vein.
If you believe this standard practice should be changed, please bring it up without reference to any particular post as a proposed rule change.
And again, in this and in several other posts, please use the notify the administrators function, or contact Dr. Bob directly if your concern involves a current deputy.

As in one of The Shorter Oxford English Dictionary's definitions, "Treat as worthy of, dignify with" therefore, when I say I have a hard time believing anyone would think what I have to say as being worthy of offending anyone, when you and others here do it so extremely well (so much better, in fact, than I would ever deign to) under your thinly veiled disguise of "civility".
