I don't know what it is anymore. Or who changed it. What do I do? Whatever the new password is its in the computers at my old job and at home. No one from my work has ever been in my house. I think they may have even posted something in my name. I don't think I'm crazy, but I noticed the password was longer than usual a few months ago. But the old one still worked, untill now?

Have you been able to get back in?

Because of cookies, my computer already has the password in every time, I just don't know what it is. I tried to reset the password, but no email to me? Its been a day now, how long does it take?

So the only way you're able to get in is if someone follows up your post, right?
Then, can you post????? (Duh .. can't think)
Let me know if you need me to keep coming back and forth and following up. I'll just hit a couple of random keys and send them back to you.

Sebastian,
I brought this thread to Dr. Bob's attention yesterday. I'm not sure when he'll be back on Babble, though. The deputies cannot change people's passwords. Maybe this weekend he'll get a chance to go through this board, but I can't guarantee that.
If I understand this right, you *can* post, since you are posting, right? ;-) But, #1 - you can't remember your password and/or it seems to be changed, and #2 - you are concerned because it appears someone else may know that password, or at least be using it from your old job where it's still in that computer, through a cookie? Is that it?
You don't have a friend you trust or anything, back at the old job, who could go in and erase those cookies, history of accessing Babble or anything? I suppose that's unlikely, and they could cause themselves problems with the person using the computer now.....hmm....just thinking out loud here....
You do need Dr. Bob for this one. I'm sorry - wish I could help.

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#password
from the FAQ:Why is my password longer (or shorter) than it should be?
What's automatically entered in the "password" box isn't your actual password, but, for security reasons, an encrypted version, which may be longer (or shorter).
Example for demonstration purposes:
Password: [several bullet points here]You can post with either the encrypted version or your actual password.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
could that be what has happened Sebastian? the original password exists but doesn't show identical length due to encryption.the FAQ also has links to how to change your password if you would like. http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#reset
which then links you to the secure site
I tried the password that I always used and it worked for a while and then stoped all together? Since I've noticed this longer password.
