How is this not a violation?!

Posted by pseudoname on July 9, 2006, at 11:21:15

The following post excerpt was directed to another Babbler several days ago, with the target's name added to the subject line AND as the first word in the body of the post.

> Thanx for the passive agressive response!

No administrative guidance resulted; should it have?

Perhaps the inaction was simple oversight, but the post was in a contentious thread that had been heating up for a while, which it seems to me would attract greater scrutiny.

Or maybe I'm mistaken about the civility guidelines that apply. *I* would feel put down if, apropos of nothing, my post were characterized as passive-aggressive.

I can understand your confusion about this, and I think I'd be concerned, too, if something like that was allowed to stand. The reality, though, is that not every post is read every day by Dr Bob or deputies, so it can take a few days for something to be addressed.

If you link to a post, though, and ask for someone to take a look, that speeds up the process. It also helps show what issues are of most concern to the greatest number of posters, which I think Dr Bob does pay attention to.

So, where's this post, Dude? Let's give the Deputies a leg up, eh?
