Following procedure, my computer is acting up, I had to create another user name. All DizzyNikki posts are now under DizzyNikki2.

Its a little too similar to mine for my tastes.. but.. I can't exactly ask people to change their names *L*
So, if everyone could be clear this isn't me!!

Thanks for posting here, NikkiT2. I was confused and I did think it was you, and that you were having problems with a computer that even YOU couldn't solve. I know...stretches the bounds of credulity. ;-)
I once asked a new poster named gardengirl to change. It was too similar, and I believe she did change.

Hi NikkiT2,
Thank you for posting this. I thought the original poster was you. I agree that the names are too similar and it's confusing.

It's true that people can get confused between posters with similar posting names. I know people sometimes get me confused with TamaraJ. But when I signed up I don't think I'd seen any posts by TamaraJ, or I wouldn't have chosen Tamar.
And now that I've been around for a few months I've grown attached to the name Tamar and I don't really want to change it (sorry, TamaraJ!).
Maybe it's something that the people who watch the Newbies board can advise on when people first sign up? I suspect the software can't pick up on such things (though I know nothing about software).

Hi!
I was also confused. At first, I thought you were NikkiT2. Perhaps you could change your name to super_nikki or something like that!

Hmmm... I guess a dizzy in front isn't enough. That kind of upsets me. I'll just go elsewhere.

It seems different enough to me, especially since Nikki has explained that it isn't her.
But Dr. Bob has, in the past, cleared up confusion about passwords and other problems with registration. It should be possible to go back to your original posting name, which was DizzyNikki?

I was just trying to talk about the issue in general, and with reference to my own posting name. I hadn't really thought much about the confusion my own name might cause until I saw this thread.
For what it's worth, I think having a Dizzy in front is pretty cool. Please don't go elsewhere because of some stupid thing I said.
Apologies,
Tamar

Hi Nikki :-)
>That kind of upsets me. I'll just go elsewhere.
Don't go! You're very welcome here :-) I'm really sorry if I upset you.
I guess people were just a bit concerned about the potential for confusion.
>I guess a dizzy in front isn't enough.
I think it was that the 2 reminds people of NikkiT2.
Kind regards

That's a great idea. Dr. Bob can help. It was the 2 that confused me!
Kind regards

Oh heavens.. there is no reason to leave.
I wish I'd not said anything..
If you email Dr Bob, he'll be able to reset DizzyNikki for you so you can use that.. he offered to do that for NikkiT when there were problems with my registration (years ago now though!), but I'd become attached to my 2 *l* Silly I know!

-- Hey, don't be sorry. It doesn't bother me that our posting names are similar. I, actually, used another name when I first started posting, but changed it to my given name since I always used that at the end of my posts. I think I changed it a month or so before you started posting, which could explain why you didn't see many posts by TamaraJ.
Anyway, I don't post much anymore, so that should help cut down on any confusion LOL.Take care.

It sounds like no 2 in back would be enough, if you're open to that, just email me? Thanks,
Bob
