Dr. Hsiung,
I am requesting that you write a determination as to the acceptability or not in relation to the past practice here for the following.
The poster wrote, [....violate...].

Lou,
There is something I have always been curious about, and since you are using one of my posts for administrative review, I'd like to ask you. I'm going to "borrow" your posting style, if that is okay with you, in hopes it is helpful to you in reading this. When you submit something for review, such as in this case, I wonder if it is
1)because you are hurt or offended by it?
2)Or do you do it as a way to increase consistency in how the rules are enforced and applied?
3)Or is there some other purpose? If it is number 1, I apologize. I did not intend for my interpretation of the rule as I did to in any way reflect on you or your postings. I was just answering your question in a general way.
If it is 2 or 3, I am curious about what your hopes are in regards to the forum.
Thanks in advance for you reply,
gg

Would you like to elaborate on 2 or 3 Lou?

alexandra_k,
You wrote,[...comment on 2 or 3?...].
You saw my citation of the past practice here? If so, that could mean that #2 could be relevant but #3 could be also.

I think it's acceptable. I think the main difference is that it's hypothetical?

You wrote,[...the difference is that it is hypothetical?...].
Well, is your question mark here an idication that you really do not know why one is acceptable and one is not?

Let us look at some posts in regards to the past practice concerning your writing to me about my writing the word,"violate".
If you examine them, could you write why they are acceptable in regards to comparison with my use of the word?
