The Admin board may be vulnerable to two forms of suicide. There is a phenomenon known as 'suicide by police' or 'suicide by cop' in which an individual makes a threatening act towards a law enforcement officer or makes a threatening jesture towards innocent others in the presence of police in an attempt to become martyred. Another act of martyrdom is the 'suicide bomber' who sacrifices him or herself in a way designed to take out or injure as many innocent people because of the individual's fanatical beliefs. This individual is obsessed with a self-rightious determination and typically holds a delusional belief system that they will receive devine rewards for their sacrifice. How should this group defend itself from such acts of terrorism?

Mary's kamakazee assault was quickly doused by the crew. Atticus' frequent acerbic attacks on the moderator never resulted in martyrdom because they were largely ignored, perhaps out of deference to the bard's genius. I only ask how I can resist the urge to invoke suicide by proxy by speaking my true feelings about obnoxious behavior intended to goad others into frustration. I am particularly vulnerable to this strategy right now.

Need I say less? The majority of people who answered here seemed unappreciative of my effort, but some people found it supportive that a complete stranger was interested in helping them learn more about standards that can govern behavior in a venue they find valuable.

This post is really just about terminology
I think its very important to be clear on the difference between actual actions and words on their own.
Words can be hurtful and upsetting, of course. And many of us are sometimes particularly vulnerable to anything distressing. But that is completely unlike actual 'suicide by cop' or suicide bombers.
This site cannot be used for 'acts of terrorism' in their true sense, and I think its important to keep to that meaning. The Boards are limited to exchanging words, and cannot cause my laptop to blow up (for example).
Why do I care so much? Becuase it is such a serious topic, I suppose.
I have been fortunate not to have direct personal experience of terrorism. I have heard 2 bombs going off (actually 3, but I didnt know the first time what the noise was), felt the blast wave, and seen the aftermath of a bomb. Fortunately, only one person was killed in that, although a vast amount of damage happened to property.
And in addition to the totally appalling events on 9/11, we all see regular reports of terrorists causing death and destruction in various countries. And its been going on a very long time (forever?). Guy Fawkes, anyone?
Extra clarity on 'fundamentalism':
Many people hold strong religous views (Christian, Muslim or anything else), but that does not mean that they personally intend violence, and certainly their faiths do not support it. Fundamentalist are sadly present in both Christian and Muslim communities. (I dont know if any other faithes have fundamentalists..) Often its a mixture of religious and politic views, too.
Apologies if I misinterpreted the post.
