We can continue to learn from LarryHoover

I learned, one more time, not to take myself too seriously.

yourself too seriously. Nor would it occur to most posters, I'm sure.

The loss of a significant support system and an important part of your life is a very serious issue indeed.

I know that one day, if I feel the need to leave Babble, it will be a very serious thing in my life, and the decision will be granted all the importance it deserves.

I appreciate that you didn't deprive us of your company without serious thought, and I especially appreciate your making yourself vulnerable to us while doing it.

Actually because Larry was asked my so many people to stay, the fact that he took care to explain why he was leaving shows that he was taking the feelins of others seriously, Dr. Rod.

Dr. Bob, do you consider 64Bowtie's comment about Larry to be civil?

Can't we agree to disagree?

...or are we destined to be [obligated] to the rules and taboos of our youth?

Optional thinking allows for agreeing to disagree.

I choose to envision my life to include options.

My message(s) here is(are) that "I made it" to "the other side" about 15 years ago. My "wish" is that I have a message of hope. For the longest time now, I haven't been driven by my [gut] to take myself so seriously. Sometimes life gives me reminders. I enjoy recognizing such reminders as icons of success.

I ask no one to agree with me about anything. I do, however, accept my option to "trust" the agreement to categorically disagree.

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others and don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down. If you have any questions about this or comments about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways to express yourself, please see the FAQ:

or post a follow-up here. Thanks,

"We can continue to learn from Larry Hoover"

Truer words have rarely been spoken.

Larry, I love you and I'll miss you.

Thank you Scott for your civility.

I meant what I said, and I repeat,

"We [C A N] continue to learn from Larry Hoover!" I quite innocently attempted to initiate discussion from others to "GET SPECIFIC" about what they remember learning.

Does this mean I'm not allowed to learn something unpopular, even though I learned it, once again? I recognized something in Larry's last two postings that resonated from my past. I saw in my own postings that I might take myself toooo seriously, and be yanked (with a block). I am reminded to remain humble and caring at all times or suffer the consequences.

I have my own site under construction and have great admiration for anything that I see Dr Bob doing. Most of his admin chores must be very time consuming. I never want to be a pain in the neck, ever.

Note: My site will be one-on-one IM with a professional trainee (under supervision) instead of boards. I predict a much smaller chance for the management overhead caused by unresolved dysfunctional family dynamics. I could be wrong, and still be "OK". This is all I best say.

Dr. Bob, is it civil for 64Bowtie to talk about Larry in this manner?

What was it you saw in his posts?

Are you saying that Larry took himself too seriously or wasn't humble and caring? Thanks,

Bob
