That would be great, too!
> Or for other things that posters may find useful (e.g. migraines, IBS, CFS)?
But maybe stick just to herbs for now? That'll keep it more focused...
In the past, these have been one-poster efforts, but maybe after your first draft others could contribute, too?

Sounds good to me -- do you just need me to e-mail the link to you?

First of all, I meant "links", not "link".
Second, what about info on homeopathic remedies? This is an area that I feel is all too often overlooked, and many homeopathic remedies are plant-based (though some are not, such as Argentum nitricum [silver nitrate], Calcarea phosphorica [calcium phosphate], and Apis mellifica [honeybee]).

Right! :-) But just enter them directly yourself. But to do that you need to subscribe to that Yahoo Group. But when you do that, can you also send me an email? So I'll make sure to OK the subscription request...

Sure! But do you think it makes more sense for them to be in the same folder or a different one?

I'd say a different folder makes more sense for the homeopathic remedies, as they operate under the principle that "like treats like", while herbs operate under the principle that "opposite treats like". i.e. in homeopathy, extremely minute doses of poison nut may be given over time in order to treat the exact same symptom-set that high doses of poison nut would provoke (e.g. nausea, vomiting)... very similar in a way to immunization; herbology, OTOH, is just like orthodox psychiatry -- if you're having trouble sleeping, take an herb that makes you sleepy.
Anyway, I'll get right to it, Bob -- expect to see at least the beginnings of the folders up by tomorrow!

There are herbs that are available and poisonous in relatively small quantities, or in reaction with other meds or medical conditions (unless I've been reading for years from incorrect books and materials, in which case, read no further, please), but can still be useful when handled properly.
Would that be part of the discussion? If so, does one say, xx is a fatal dose (we can't say that about meds), or issue a general warning that it can be lethal, and/or include info on reactions with other meds/medical conditions?
I like the idea of including herb info, just want to be cautious about it. My concern is that some folks I know don't understand that herbs are really drugs and may ignore labels, dosing, methods of using (teas, tinctures, tablets, etc.) that can make a difference in the outcome, unless explicitly stated.

I wholeheartedly agree -- I already planned on putting together a small website of my own to link to in the Tips section that would mainly focus on the proper and safe use of herbs.

But the "theory of likes" is more than that.
Lower concentrations, to the point a just a few
molecules in solution, have a greater effect than higher concentrations. This is where the "theory of likes totally" goes against science.

Don't worry, Bob, I haven't forgotten -- just still gathering links and designing that site I mentioned a few posts up. Just a few more days.

I've got a good start on the herbs folder, but where exactly do you want me to upload them on PB-Open?

I somehow was under the impression that the links were to go in PB-Open, but I found the Tips group. I feel stupid, lol.
This is the end of the thread.
