Anyone else get an email from someone at AOL through Dr.Bob's address? It had an attachment that my security system would let me open.

The last link was Dr.Bob at his U of Chicago address but it looked like it came from a numbered AOL account originally, and was filtered through another numbered AOL account. It was dated this afternoon and when my security opened it (in a round about way), it looked very much like a virus text. My cool security shows it to me then asks if I want to proceed or get rid of it. I got rid of it. I suppose that I could have it retrieved.
I have had several potential viruses come from AOL accounts lately. They don't really bother me, though. These addresses just get trapped in "goo". (Don't ask 'cause I ain't tellin' - actually, I'm not sure that I really understand). I can have them traced them right back if necessary, and may, yet. I am told that originating computer can be messed with if they are trying to hurt me. That is why I ask if anyone else got the post, or if it was legitimately forwarded by Bob.
I've just been seeing if this new security lives up to it's maker's hype (a friend). He knows I am computer illiterate, so that's why he is having me beta test it. I don't want to hurt any legit emailers, though. This has been the only email so far that I have had any reservations about. If I am sure I don't know an emailer, they get tagged.

It wasn't from me. FWIW, I've been getting more "infected" email myself than I used to, I think it started in April with:
w32.klez.h@mm.html" target="_blank">http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.klez.h@mm.html
From an email about it on a list I belong to:
> Klez has the ability to disguise the From field by selecting an address found on the victim's computer. A mass-mailing worm, it selects email addresses from files found on the victim's hard drive and uses those addresses to "spoof" or disguise the actual source, so the apparent victim may not be the actual sender. This form of identity theft is sowing confusion and distrust.

Bob - Yeah, I've seen that one, too. I do not have an operational address book on my computer. I find them to be a pain where I wouldn't put a window. Also, I guarantee that my security system is not from this guy.

FWIW, a few months ago, my home computer got a pretty bad virus that purported to come from Dr. Bob. The bizarre thing is that it came through an email address (not AOL) that my husband uses, but that I haven't used for well over a year. It probably was the address I registered with Bob when I first joined in 2000 under a different posting name. I wrote Bob about this and he speculated that it was the virus that is able to mask its source. This makes sense to me since there wasn't a huge hue and cry on the Board from others claiming to be similarly infected.
