Thanks Dr. Bob for returning.
-- please if you need to be away for a few days empower someone, anyone, a kid even, to temporarily block posters so that really serious problems could at least get postponed to your return. Things really felt like they were going haywire here.

Dr. Bob does ask for volunteers to help out while he's gone. I'm sure he'd be delighted if you would volunteer. :)

I don't know about that. I dislike conflict. I'd rather it was some random unknown person, secretary etc that he just left it to temporarily when needed. -- kate

There have been offers, but he hasn't taken anyone up on them :-)

Perhaps he remembers what a hard time we gave poor Mark. I think that could be averted if he gave us warning and clarification before leaving. :)

Mark is Mark H., the first person Dr. Bob left in charge while he was gone (and only one to my knowledge). Unfortunately Dr. Bob didn't bother to tell us first or tell us what authority Mark had over say, access to our email addresses. So we bombarded poor Mark with questions because we had no idea what was going on. By the way, he did an admirable job.
But I do think that better done it might work.

Sorry about that! I was away, but I was expecting still to be able to connect. I *think* the problem was a digital phone line, maybe I should get an adapter...

And you posters probably have the best idea of the "culture" here, and of how I'd like things handled...
