I think it's mostly going to be what I covered in that article, so don't get your hopes up, it may be anticlimactic...

Also, the streaming server I've been using is being phased out, so there may be bandwidth problems...

Could you let us know when it's available from the Grand Rounds page? I couldn't get through live.
Thanks.

Was anyone able to connect live? What happened when you tried it? They're switching me to a different streaming server, and not all of the bugs are worked out yet. Related to that, they're the only ones who can transfer files there, at least for now. I'll let you know when they get around to these.

My "slides", however, are already available, at:

Let me know what you think...

Interesting and thorough. Seems like I missed some pretty good posts though--like the 7 gates one.

Also, I think we sound pretty smart! ...8-)

Is there a transcript of the lecture that you'll be posting? The slides don't work for me--nothing happens when I click on the arrow. It must require something enabled that I have disabled on my computer (that I would prefer not to change). -mist

Sorry, no. It would be neat to be able to have voice recognition software do it, but I don't think it's good enough yet. :-(

They do require Javascript now (it makes it a *ton* easier for me to change the order). Just change your setting, go through the slides, and then change it back? :-)

Just curious about the size of your playing field.

The people who attend in person are mostly from our department, but it's open to the public.

BTW, it's up and should be working now:

Everything's up and running. It was a very informative and professional presentation.

You used the quotes from posts in a discreet manner that shouldn't cause embarassment to anyone.

Is it OK to ask questions?

I am vaguely familiar with the two concepts associated with the idea of splitting but how would it apply to a support board? You didn't really explain that.

Is THIS board sustainable?

I know that this not brought up by you but in response to a question, but I for one would be more than willing to pay a subscription. Of course, I also know that you would hate to restrict access of the board to people with a certain amount of income. Perhaps you could let us know what sort of monthly subscription you thought was fair, and those who wished to and could pay it could use the existing setup for sending in donations. That way you could get an idea of how many people would be willing to pay.

How could an efficacy study of the board be structured? (My therapist would give positive feedback. He thinks it's great that I'm involved in a community, cyber or not.)

What sort of books would you like to write from the data on the board?

Sorry for the many questions, but I listened to the lecture and it made me think. :) I won't be offended if you ignore any or all of them.

Thanks!

I guess the idea would be something like, if I'm just setting limits, I'm more likely to be seen as a "bad guy".

> I for one would be more than willing to pay a subscription. Of course, I also know that you would hate to restrict access of the board to people with a certain amount of income. Perhaps you could let us know what sort of monthly subscription you thought was fair

May I turn it around, what would *you* think would be fair? Since you'd be the one paying...

Hmm, now there's an interesting idea, asking the therapists of members... I was just thinking of doing a survey of the members themselves:

I don't know, books are so much work, but there are lots of interesting issues that come up here...

Now I feel like I'm at a used car lot. :) Should we both write down a figure and simultaneously post it? Seriously, could you give me a range? I wouldn't want to look ridiculous in either direction.
