Dr. Bob--Date split when archiving

Posted by Craig on May 23, 2001, at 1:22:18

I've noticed that when an archive is created, it doesn't include the full day's worth of posts. For example, yesterday on Psycho-Babble, some of the 5/22/01 posts were archived and some are on the new page. Would it be possible to begin a new page with all the posts for that day instead of the way archives are now being created? When I search through the newly created archive for the rest of that day's posts, there aren't any yellow tags to let me know which messages I haven't read, so this can get a bit time-consuming.

That's because it's set to run at 4 am, when it's only half as busy:

and fewer people are likely to be disrupted.

If you're just looking for the posts between midnight and 4 am, you could use do "find" in your browser to look for "5/22" or whatever the date is...

Or, it's more involved, but you can also use the "Previous new indicators" button to reset the yellow tags. On the new main page, after you see that the old posts have been archived, click the button, then go to the archive. And maybe then click the button again? I can never keep it straight myself...
