I think this is a good idea, because this is a good place to discuss issues like whether someone/something is keeping new posters away, or banishment, or humor and if it has a place at PSB and to what extent, or what to do if new people feel that they are not part of the "clique" on PSB, or maybe have a welcoming committee for new people, and so on.
I am planning to stop or at least restrict posting on PSB because it is very hostile, and when someone is hostile toward me I will usually respond to what they've said in a frosty manner. It is a no-win situation right now because I've evidently run Nikki off (she said in a post to Noa that I've made her the most uncomfortable), and while that is beyond my control, it does not fit with how I see myself.
It might be interesting some day to have a discussion about whether bleeding hearts and realists can peacefully coexist--and I am not talking about Nikki in any way here (see, learning to defend myself before the first grenade is launched).

Hopefully, having this board here will keep the other ones more supportive...
If the choice is stopping or cutting back, I hope you just cut back. It's hard to be open-minded enough to see oneself in a new way, especially when one doesn't like that perspective. But that's insight.
And once things quiet down, maybe Nikki will give us another try.

Defending yourself involves imagining how another might react, which is a lot of what civility -- and empathy -- is about. :-)

I'm just not posting on PSB for a while. I feel I also increased the "agro" that was going on in there, and was hurt by it, so am just taking a few steps backward till all is happy again!!
Nice to know I won't be forgotten though!! :o)
I am still posting on PB, and obviously here though!
Shar - I didn't mean to critisise you, or cause you to leave. I simply had got to the point whre I needed to speak my mind. I did feel you post towards me re; lumptonia were hurtful, as I never asked nayone to stop them, I just wanted everyone to see what "might" have been felt by others.
