Hi, so Ive been an inpatient in a psych hospital a few times, and every time they ask if youre suicidal or homicidal.
Now of course they exist to treat suicidal conditions due to depression. But there is NO treatment for homicidal thoughts. So what action does a psychiatric institution take if you tell them you have homicidal thoughts.

My experience in a psych ward consisted of waking up around 8 am. The psychiatrist would meet with you at some point during the day, everyday. Going to group therapy throughout the day, which was mostly one of the nurses there just reading tips off a sheet of paper on how to improve ones mental health. Things like exercise, meditation, etc... of course youd have breakfast lunch and dinner between these groups. And then bedtime at 10. Pretty decent experience for me.

Ive been an inpatient a few times. Usually there about a week. And they tend to adjust meds.
