Magnesium blocks *some* of the targets of lithium. But they also have some overlapping targets (i.e. reduction of glutamatergic function).

Okay but does it block the absorption?

I haven't read anything about blocking absorption. You could space out dosing, if concerned about that. They are both cleared by the kidneys, so (depending on the dose) they would work the kidneys a bit too hard, or slow one another's clearance.

Hi Linkadge,
thanks for your response. I merely take 225mg Lithium and 400mg Magnesium both at night time.
