I just added 5mg of abilify to the 300 of Wellbutrin Im on. Has anyone used abilify as an add-on? If so, how long did it take to work?

i'm not familar, i was on abilify for a about a month and that was long ago. All i know is abilify is a bit stimulating, it's a partial D2 (dopamine) agonist, that's probaly the reason why it can be somewhat stimulting. But maybe it could work with wellbutrin in leveling dopamine levels without going too much where it causes imbalance.
some other posters maybe some help besides me...

hi. not the same situation exactly, but wellbutrin was added to my full dose abilify to help w/ low mood...it was great till id been @ 400/wellbutrin for a while, then i started feeling jittery. :-(
other than that...i found it to be an effective, helpful combination. only thing...antidepressant increase neuroleptic blood levels, so your 5mgs abilify could turn into the equivalent of 7mgs, 10mgs...it really depends. could be good, could not be so great.
