Hi all,
Does anyone remember taking Imipramine? I'm on it now and it's helping somewhat, but I can only make it to about 1pm and then I have to lay down due to drowsiness. I tried splitting the dose, half in the AM and half at night, but it didn't help.
Does anyone remember taking this older med? Any tips for mitigating the drowsiness?
Thank you for any help!!

way back when, I took Tofranil-PM (supposedly more even blood levels, I think) with Adderall. That combination is kind of frowned upon...but it was effective. maybe ritalin or focalin? depends on the doctor, obviously...and your needs.

Thank you, I think my doctor would consider something like that.
Thanks,

>Hi, yes I do have a history of getting drowsy. He could maybe add a stimulant, but I also take ativan and seroquel at night, so I wonder if it's okay to be taking both a stimulant and a benzodiazepine??? (I don't know enough about meds to know this.)
Thank you for your suggestion!

hi. adderall w/ Tofranil was effective, but a little...rough, I guess. I could -feel- the amphetamine more than without the imipramine. turns out...imipramine can "potentiate" some effects of stimulants. maybe dosage was an issue, too? anyway...
I don't know you or your reactions psych drugs, but I'd personally ask about Ritalin or Focalin before an amphetamine, unless you're deep, dark, depressed and lethargic and...blah blah blah...then I would think some flavor amphetamine might be reasonable, to put more pep in your step. just a thought.

I would ask about modafinil if you can afford it.
