Particularly the more unique medications.... do you often wonder if they would have been just what your specific, very unique brain needed to overcome the illness you deal with?
But since it didnt benefit a certain amount of other people, you will never have the chance to find out if it could have helped *you*

Some of those could work for many of us.

Or treatments used outside the US, like TDCS or Tianeptine. Considering we are still quite lacking when it comes to diagnosing the cause of ones Mood Problems, it would make sense to have as many Treatment Options as possible, as long as they pass Safety Studies. Then let the Doctor and Patient make the decision on which treatment would work best. You hear a similar argument when it comes to abortion. To not let outside lawmakers control what a woman does with her body. Maybe if more of us with Mental Illness speak out against Government Regulations, we might get more treatment options. Contact your Representatives.
Possible Good News, though. Medicare is taking another look at whether or not to cover Vagus Nerve Stimulation for Depression. Medicare saying it wasnt necessary for Depression in the first place was odd.

Tianeptine and Moclobemide, both unavailable in the US.

I responded brilliantly to Emsam. My social phobia is severe, and yet I was more outgoing and motivated to get out and about. You could try it before nardil. (I had a conflict with another medication or I might still be taking it.)

My doctor saw Emsam work well for social anxiety/phobia shortly after it was marketed.

Im not sure what you mean. I was prescribed it recently. Got the feeling it is the preferred MAOI among psychs because of its lack of dietary restrictions.

Youre referring to the Emsam MAOI patch, correct? Yep, still available. If my memory serves me correctly it only just came out in 2006. It is simply the old MAOI Selegiline in the form of a patch you stick to your skin. Since it is through the skin, it doesnt interact with your diet. And so Psychiatrists are much more comfortable with prescribing it.

But its expensive. Around $500. And your insurance will likely need Prior Authorization.
