Thanks for your reply. I think I am too young for perimenopause but will discuss with doctor.
Thanks!

Eh, it was just a thought. I've been using tizanidine, an anti spasmodic. All the hypnotics and gabapentin cr*pp*d out.

I found their side effects problematic, but Lyrica and gabapentin deepened my sleep and didn't wear off after a few hours. (My feet swelled up.)
The other thing that was useful before they made it impossible to get here was trimipramine in half doses. There is a wiki page on it, I think.

>Hi peanut,
I had some success taking Trazodone for sleep (sorry, this was too long ago for me to remember the dosage) just after I started Nardil. I say some success in that it helped me sleep for longer periods than I would have otherwise, but the hangover effect was counterproductive *and* my sleep schedule was still wildly inconsistent.
FWIW: I gave up on sleep meds after about six months and learned to ride the weird-sleep wave with Nardil, which I have now been taking for over eight years. Reading up on how MAOIs suppress REM sleep (among other things) and how no sleep medication really seems meant to be taken long term, helped me come to that decision.
To be clear, I don't mean to preach: I very much understand that not everyone has the option to sleep at the hours I do, and that my grasp of psychopharmacology will never be as thorough as I would wish.
Please feel free to send any other questions about Nardil my way. I have done a lot of research, but am certainly not as knowledgeable as some of the other long-term-Nardil-users here. On the other hand, I am not sure how many are still around.
Good luck!
This is the end of the thread.
