Please Assist--Asthma and Amitriptyline

Posted by B2chica on August 5, 2016, at 22:31:29

Is anyone aware of dangers or concerns of taking Dulera while on Amitriptyline and Adderall??

Hi Babble folks, its been a while since i've posted but things have been going ok (now that im back with old pdoc).
So between my (med)weight gain and crappy weather my asthma has been kicking up bad so i had to go in to GP. I could only get in to see P.A. that is not familiar with me or my medications, anyway she rx'd me an inhaler for inflammation.
It is called Dulera.
Since i have been my own best advocate regarding medication for the last 13 years i have a habit of double checking the 'specs' of the new med.

Here is my Concern-- after reading the papers that come with the inhaler i found some concerns regarding TCA's so i went online to see if there were any drug interactions i needed to worry about. Though i cant really figure out if they are strong interactions, or just precautionary things?? there seema to be warnings about taking this Dulera inhaler if you are taking a TCA (specifically mnetioned Amytriptyline as one) THEN it also mentioned similar negative interactions with adderall (which i am also on).

and yes i listed off my current meds to bot the nurse that checked me in AND the P.A.
So if no one here knows off hand, i need to find out for sure if i should be on this (only taken two doses so far), should i contact the GP's office, my pdoc, or i have a general ask-a-nurse type phone number, or a pharmacist?

Thank you all for any input. The only thing that sucks is that its friday, so i will have to wait until monday to call any of the people...

SO i found that Walgreens has a pharmacy chat, so i got on. They mentioned that the a-fib that would come from it was #1 pretty rare, and #2 typically would only happen if i had a hx of heart issues.

Anyway, i think i'm going to just not take it until monday so i can call someone and ask.

Please still give me you're 2cents, if anyone is familiar with any interactions.

Thanks!

Pharmacists know a lot, but in my experience, tend to be overly cautious since they base their advice on computerized lists, with no clinical experience.
