we'll until you find a stable dose of any anti-psychotic, you may have to work with it.....too high and it zones you out and produces extrapyramidal side effects but mainly that's with older generation meds, some people find AP's reliving to their thoughts, producing relief in agitated thoughts, others can find them sedating and unable to function

i would suggest dosage testing, then talk with your doctor about what correct dose is best

that's my opinion to.
You don't get tolerant to them like with narcotics, but some desired effects may fade (like sleepiness/calming feeling if you need that).

I take 30mgs/Abilify. On the very rare days I need it, I take 2mgs/Risperidone on top at night.

My concern would be having to always be on 2 neuroleptics or having to switch. I'm on 2 anticonvulsants (1200/trileptal and 100/lamictal), so I'm hoping that will help keep the dosage stable.

Just curious. It seems that one would want to stabilize and then reduce the dosage, but then again...as the brain adapts to the tranquilizer, maybe dosage escalation would be more likely, over the long haul?
