Nobody here can get a hold of Dr Bob??
My last interaction with him was that he is in spain and that we could meet there.
Where do we go when PB is over??
We should vote or sth.
I want to interact with the same people.

we'll if the worse happens, there are sites that are similar to babble and we could transfer our screennames over to psych central, or other sites....I put some sites on admin board
but I don't think it's totally over with because we still have indepth discussion and have voices, but there's no active deputies and it could just be like a government that being run without a military, we can say what ever want until the end]
but the worst case: the whole server is deleted from dr-bob, and then after that regroup onto another website

Yes but we should be clear what website that is. How are we going to communicate when PB is down?

Maybe pharmaceutical companies can come out with medications that actually work for depression and not as a result of placebo effect. That will save psychobabble. I think consumers are wising up and realizing these drugs don't work. I really see the market for antidepressants massively declining in the next few decades.

I agree. You don't see a whole lot of it in mainstream US news, but mainstream news in, say, the UK often criticizes The Miracle Meds. My theory is that since they have the NHS, they're more critical of meds than the US. Even with some shrinks ideologically devoted to drugs, drugs, and more drugs, cost containment demands that they take a good look at the data and...apparently...what they've found (and are finding) isn't so great.Other European countries are devoting a lot of time and money to psychosocial treatments for mental problems, with the meds there, but in the background. If Schizophrenia is now being treated more and more by psychosocial means, then I would imagine/assume that, eventually, that approach will become more common with the less severe problems and will also come to America (hopefully).

I am sure they will. I expect Rapastinel to be pretty big.

What are your expectations of an antidepressant?

Wow I use PB to track my med changes from about 2000. I can't imagine the server being wiped!
This is the first I'm hearing of this. Has there been an announcement?

No, not at all. It would be hard for Dr. Bob to make such an announcement when he hasn't posted a single thing for close to a year :-(
I think rj was speculating about "the worst"....being IF the server was "wiped" (website removed, I guess) He was..thinking out loud? That's all.
Meanwhile, stagnant old PB just sits here, but if some are still interacting and benefiting, that's the one good thing.

There are multiple mechanisms which basically copy and archive internet pages...if this site went down the old posts might still be floating around somewhere...
and for those who allow their posts to be tweeted, you are now part of the Library of Congress archives :-)
This is the end of the thread.
