HI
I have made the leap from 75mg to 100mg of Lamotrigine. My best bet would be to see what effect it does actually have given time for myself but i know when you reach 100mg its at a therapeutic dose albeit maybe only a low one so im just curious what to expect. So far(up until 75mg its balanced my mood a little and worked well with my abilify and possibily cigs which all work dopamine.thanks for any input.PB

i don't think there's much a major change, it's may have small mood enhancement/stablization effect
above 200mg is usally for mood stablization and siezures, 100mg i know friends who take it for depression at that dose

I've been on 100 for a long time now. My lows aren't as low, and I don't get as agitated, either. I'm also on other meds.

Even if you were to see a partial improvement at 100 mg/day of Lamictal, I would still continue increasing the dosage as tolerated to 200-300 mg/day. See how much you can squeeze out out it. You could go on for years feeling worse than would be necessary were you to target such a low arbitrarily chosen dosage.
Many people will experience a brief improvement of depression when they first arrive at dosages between 50-100 mg/day. They are fooled into thinking that these lower dosages are all that is necessary, despite having lost the improvement. 200 mg/day is the dosage most often arrived at after careful titration. Another oddity is that some people feel better briefly when they reduce the dosage. This can deceive people into thinking that lower is better.
