I got a bottle of port for xmas. But im not sure of its tyramine content. Would port likey be ok to drink on an MAOI (isocarboxazid)? Could it bring on hypertensive crisis? Im not a salesman but the port is COCKBURNS (yea made me giggle too) Fine Ruby port.

Apparently i should drink no more than 120ml. It includes white wine but ive never had problems with it.

Well i drank about 100ml half hr ago on empty gut. Fine so far. Only ever had 1 major crisis. It was from lambs liver (whilst on phenelzine). I ate half a pack and was fine. Put the other half sealed into the fridge. Ate the other half 24hrs later and got rushed to hospital.

Answered my own question. 250mg quetiapine, 4mg clonazepam, 300mg bupropion, 150mg amitryptyline & 110mg isocarboxazid. Half a 75cl/750ml bottle of 20% port. I'm absolutely fine. Though I can hardly feel the alcohol either lol. Perhaps that's the aniracetam working. I've read that it helps reduce alcohol intake by enhancing alcohols effects. Just a thought.
So, that's my experiment over.
And for those cocky few, I am not encouraging ANY form of temptation. And I do not encourage ANYONE to copy my actions. I'm simply 'sharing' my experience. Nothing more nothing less.
Hope someone, if it applies to them, now or in the future might find the info usefull.Escapee the guinea pig.
