this may be very specific but i wonder how to help my intestine get along with Metformin.
I CANT get off the drug if i take any considerable amount of Antipsychotics, which i do and will be doing for quite a while longer.

Plantain, the greener the better, can have a soothing effect on the colon. To prepare it, cut off both ends and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Eat a piece of it (it's very bland) before each meal. You can bake a few at a time, and keep them in the refrigerator.
Okra can also be soothing. Eat a piece or two before each meal.

When I say "piece of" plantain, I mean just two or three bites. I know you live in Germany, and I think that in Europe, plantain is a weed or herb. The plantain I'm talking about looks like a banana. I think it's called Zwergbanana in German. It's a resistant starch, so it acts as a prebiotic. Plantain is available in powder or flour form, at least in the US.

Okra (lady's finger) is available in pill form, as okra pepsin.

I am looking into it, thanks.
Luckily, it turned out i had diarrhea from eating pizza the other day. I guess particularly high fat doesnt mix well with Metformin for me.
