Viibryd and sex drive

Posted by Hello321 on August 15, 2015, at 14:56:25

Im about to start taking Viibryd and am wanting to hear experiences with it from any babblers that took it. Especially about its effects on sex drive? I know it is supposed to be helpful, or at least not as harmful in that area. Also, if it was helpful with increasing libido, how long before this effect kicks?

Buspar is also helpful with libido for many people with its 5ht1a partial agonism like Viibryd, but i actually had decreased libido from it. But i only took it for a short time. I think possibly the effects could have reversed if i took it longer. Is that typical with buspar? If anyone has experience with buspars effect on sex drive id also like to hear it.

Viibryd is pretty sex-drive neutral. It neither lowers or increases libido.

Buspirone appears to produce some oxytocin stimulation via 5-HT1A receptor-induced action, which may account for its libido enhancing effects.

A couple of drugs are worth mentioning when it comes to enhancing sex drive: Mirapex, Requip,Wellbutrin and Periactin.
